OSI Systems Wins $18 Million Order for Cargo and People Screening

0 Comments | Wireless News, Jul 29, 2010

OSI Systems, a vertically-integrated provider of specialized electronic products for critical applications in the Security and Healthcare industries, announced that its Security division, Rapiscan Systems, has received an $18 million order to provide Eagle cargo and vehicle inspection systems and its Secure 1000 people screening systems to support a U.S. Government agency.

“We are encouraged that customers continue to rely on our high tech screening solutions for cargo and personnel,” said OSI Systems CEO, Deepak Chopra. “In contrast to other cargo solutions that use a technology that does not see threats hidden near the center of packed cargo containers, our proprietary Eagle technology is capable of detecting threats hidden inside containers and vehicles and provides a detailed image highlighting the size and location of the potential threat.”

Rapiscan Systems offers a variety of cargo screening technologies in mobile, portal, gantry and fixed-site configurations through its Eagle high-energy X-ray product line. These products can inspect cargo and vehicles for contraband such as explosives, weapons and narcotics.

Used worldwide by aviation authorities, military organizations, homeland security, and police and correctional facilities, the Secure 1000 is the most widely deployed people screening solution. It has been approved by the U.S. Transportation Security Administration and the UK Department for Transport and is being deployed at airports in the U.S

It should be obvious allowing a thing

It should be obvious allowing a thing to manifest is not the first step of the creation process. Before a thing is allowed, it must be intended by someone. If it is not intended it will not manifest. If you should ask what about unintended consequences, such as we see in the evening news, I say to you it was someone’s intention to create what happened and we all allowed it. There is no such thing as an unintended consequence. Adam and Eve did not intend to be expelled from Eden. That was the intention of the serpent. Adam and Eve allowed that intention to manifest.

Before any thing is intended, it must be desired. This explains much about the state of affairs in our modern world. The desires of some to disallow the desires of the many and to only allow their own to manifest. Because they already know what I’m saying and the many do not know, they accumulate material, political, psychological and spiritual power to manifest their selfish desires at the expense of the world.

Before one creates a desire for something, one must imagine it.

I Am Woman, Hear Me Roar!

If you move into the realm of music and think of songs, do you remember Helen

The idea is that you are activating the non-verbal side of your brain. The quality of what you draw is not important, since you will be the only one seeing it. The same is true for the ideas you come up with. Don’t edit, just put in what comes to mind.

There are no rules for the way to proceed from here. I tend to break rules, anyway. The way my mind works, I start thinking of related ideas, categories, and ideas, which I write in little circles surrounding the circle in the middle. I then use lines to connect them.

Tony Buzan likes to draw curved lines emanating from the center, and write the related or associated ideas on the lines. The result looks like a tree emanating from a central spot.
My technique looks more like a bunch of lollipops.

As you continue to add associated ideas to your outer circles or branches, you continue to draw the connections.

LOAN & CREDIT CARD SCANDAL

LOAN & CREDIT CARD SCANDAL

0 Comments | Derby Evening Telegraph, Feb 15, 2010

Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) policies are designed to cover the cost of loan or credit card repayments in the event that you are off sick from work or become unemployed. However, Renaissance Easy Claim, a leading financial complaints company, is warning that many people were sold policies they didn’t want or need and so could be due compensation.

Andy Humphries, Managing Director of Renaissance explains, “The main problems with PPI are that many people don’t really need the policy they have; the numerous exclusions on the policy mean they may not be able to claim at all; and that the benefit is restricted to a set period of time -usually 12 months. Many customers did not even know they were being sold the policy, or thought they had to have it to get the loan or credit card.

“The Citizens Advice Bureau have estimated there were 20 million policies in existence with around 7 million new policies being sold each year. That means, on average, each household in the country has one of these policies.

“It’s been estimated that about 60% of PPI policies were related to personal loans and most were sold by the high street b anks and building societies. A typical premium, for a 5 year loan of Pounds 10,000, was over Pounds 2,000. As this was normally charged as a single premium and added to the loan, the banks would charge interest on it as well. That could take the total cost to Pounds 2,500 or more.

“Even if someone was unfortunate enough to need to make a claim because they lost their job, but fortunate enough to escape the exclusions on the policy, then the cover would typically only cover the loan repayments for a year. If they claimed for a full year, the repayments may well have been less than the total cost of the policy. My own view is that if people really had understood the costs relative to the restrictive benefits, very few, if any at all, would have taken the PPI.

“With bank staff being set targets for selling PPI alongside loans, it is little wonder that many people felt hurried into taking it up under the false impression they had to buy the policy, or were left thinking that taking out PPI would improve their chance of getting the loan.

“PPI is also sold alongside credit cards. The policies are designed to cover repayments to the credit card company if the customer is out of work. Again, we find many people didn’t know they had it, or thought that they had to have the policy if they wanted the card. Many others didn’t appreciate that the policies usually only cover the minimum monthly payment on the card.

“Whether related to a loan or credit card, the policy should have been fully explained up front. If it was not, then it may have been mis-sold and compensation could be due. This is normally a refund of all the premiums paid, and interest on top, so it often amounts to Pounds 000′s.

“With so many people affected, this latest scandal could be the biggest mis-selling scandal yet.

“Awareness of the issue is growing fast, and thousands of people are now coming to us for help

There are ways that you can do

There are ways that you can do this with herbs. You can find many herbs that will help you to clean out your digestive system so that you can feel better and make your body healthier and happier.

You can have a build up of many toxins in your body over a period of time. You will need to have a colon cleanse to maintain a good and healthy body image. If you do not take care of this in the early stages you may end up with diverticulosis. This is a bowl disease that first appeared in the nineteen hundreds when the processed world of food began. It is now becoming more and more common as a result of the American processed food eating habit.

Noisy neighbour who 'lost everything' vows to turn his life around

Noisy neighbour who ‘lost everything’ vows to turn his life around

0 Comments | Uttoxeter Post & Times, Jul 9, 2010

A Man described as a “neighbour from hell” after playing loud music into the early hours of the morning breathed a sigh of relief as magistrates gave him a “final chance”.

Jody Goodwin spoke to the Post & Times after he was spared a jail sentence.

He stood before magistrates on Monday and thanked them when they gave their verdict.

The 28-year-old, who is now living in Silver Street, Uttoxeter, admitted harassing his neighbours at his former property in Burton Terrace, by persistently playing loud music within their hearing.

Goodwin said: “I went through a very bad period in my life but I am deeply sorry for what I have done.

“I lost everything. I was a broken man.”

Goodwin said he was now piecing together his life and had started a new job at JCB’s Rocester headquarters.

He added: “I lost the house that I worked so hard for, I lost my three-year-old daughter and went through a break-up with my girlfriend.

“I find it difficult to cope with emotions.

“I have messed up in the past but want to move on.

“I know how close I was to going to jail and I am a totally different person now than I was then.”

The offences happened between October 1 last year and February 27 this year.

Andrew Bodger, prosecuting, told the court: “Goodwin caused distress to his neighbours who suffered with sleepless nights over a long period of time, causing their quality of life to deteriorate.”

The court also heard how Goodwin received a number of letters from the Environmental Health and later he was handed a harassment notice.

Goodwin, who threw the letters in the bin, was also visited by various police officers over a four-month period.

Mr Bodger said Goodwin had a number of previous convictions including battery and breach of a community order.

Defending himself, Goodwin told magistrates he had messed up in the past and on a number of occasions had spoken to his neighbours living on either side of him to ask if it would be OK to play music.

Admitting he had taken an instant dislike to his neighbour David Cartlidge, who has lived in Burton Terrace for more than 20 years, Goodwin added: “The whole thing has got out of hand.

“I am not saying I have not played loud music but I can only recall one occasion where it was played into the middle of the night.”

Magistrates handed Goodwin a four-month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months. He was also told to do 140 hours of unpaid work.

This will run concurrently with Goodwin’s 10-month com

munity order which he received in October last year after he intentionally exposed himself to his neighbour.

Magistrates told Goodwin: “You deliberately played loud music which caused distress to your neighbours.

“You have come so close to custody today but we are giving you a final chance. The court has helped you and now you must co- operate.”

This is the true nature of

This is the true nature of meditation.

The goal of true meditation is to regain our lost memory regarding our real nature. If someone happens to regain it, it is definitely akin to a man coming out of a very scary dream. It is only then that one experiences a condition akin to a child being lost in a massive crowd or like that of a man who has lost the memory of his identity. Those undergoing such anguish, experience a great loss and they hurt their near and dear ones. Since we have lost our memory (that we are the mighty soul and not the body), our condition is as demeaning as a baby lion being brought up in a family of goats. As a result we are giving pain to our true nature, which is divinity.

The goal of Yoga of meditation is to overcome loss of memory i.e.

I wanted my hours to be

I wanted my hours to be my own.

I love being out doors on pretty days, and sitting in a little gray cubicle day after day is for me, like being in prison, no matter how much “security” the job offers. I am wired to be an entrepreneur. Anything less and I am miserable. I love knowing that my time off is not confined to weekends or 4 official company holidays a year. You only get one chance to live your life and I was bound and determined not to spend most of my years sitting in rush hour traffic, fighting the Saturday morning crowds at Wal-mart, frantically trying to squeeze all my “fun” into short weekends that seem to end all to quickly.

But, even with all that desire, I still found it very hard to get started in the early days.

In fact, it took me almost 10 years to get started. My readers are mostly aware that I have been involved in real estate in one way or another since 1994.
